What is VeganLinked?

VeganLinked.com is a directory of professionals, organizations, places, events, food services, stories, user posts, social features, and more. Join to share your story, comment, post, review, rate, interact and more. If you have a service, business, organization, event add listings & events for yourself or others free!

VeganLinked may be used socially, to promote your business, or as a tool to build your vegan community. Sharing the listings and events is an easy way to build your community and exponentially contributes to helping build a vegan world.

After adding your listing reach out to others and say “Add a listing (or event) on VeganLinked.com!”. You may also add listings for other vegan businesses and events to help promote them and build up communities. Please do so appropriately and ask first.

Once your community has grown be sure to share your city or state slug. For example, https://veganlinked.com/locations/united-states/north-carolina/charlotte/. You may even like to buy a domain name to forward to your city, state, category, or tag slugs URL like I did forwarding VeganCharlotte.com and CharlotteVegan.com to the long URL above. These URL’s can be great for facebook groups to organize their efforts and any organization.

Supporting Like Minded, Compassionate People

VeganLinked.com offers an easy, organized, uniform, geographically based way to list, promote, find, hire, utilize, befriend, etc… vegans, vegan services, vegan products, places, and events. Together we inspire and foster the development of a vegan world.

By supporting each other in this way, as Jane Velez-Mitchell says, “our energy and money goes to another plant based person who is going to use it to turn this world into a more compassionate place.”

As more join, tell their stories, add listings and events for their self or others, post, comment, and share vegan communities will become more pervasive and influential.

Problem? Problem Solved!

When posting a vegan service, product, place, or event in Meetup, a facebook group, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, etc… this information gets buried in a feed. The information may be hot for a minute in that isolated forum but it’s inaccessible to those looking for it later. Some groups may pin to the top of their feed spreadsheets, PDF’s, or docs or try to create a website that lists local services, products, and places. However this is still not uniform, comprehensive, or in the mix of something bugger and readily accessible to the public that needs quick, easy access to it. VeganLinked is a solution to this problem.

Build your community on VeganLinked.com. Then ask your facebook groups to use and pin your city, state or country URL (as described earlier) and problem solved!

Originally the main idea was to make it easy to list and find professionals. This way we’re confidently investing in someone who will in turn use that money compassionately, essentially creating a vegan economy. Of course a directory enables us to be more than just a place for professionals. We are also a community of diverse individuals, entities and happenings. Showcasing how vast, talented and eclectic vegan people, organizations, places, products, and events are normalizes veganism pulling others forward into this lifestyle and paradigm shift. This makes more like minded people within reach, vegan options more accessible, the vegan lifestyle more exciting and enjoyable, and our growing community stronger. In turn we improve the quality of life for vegans and accelerate the vegan movement!

Jane Velez-Mitchell

“I am endorsing VeganLinked! This is an idea whose time has come. We want to create a vegan economy where we know that the dollars we spend go to another plant based person whose going to use it to turn this world into a more compassionate place!”

So support VeganLinked and what that is going to do is when you want to go to a hair dresser, or a plumber, or an HVAC, or a Real-estate broker you can find a vegan person. Or a Brewery! You can find a vegan store, a vegan person, a vegan company and so you can help create this vegan economy.

We hope as the vegan movement grows more and more people who may not be vegan now will go plant based and will join us. So it’s not about exclusion it’s about inclusion but most of all it’s about making sure that the money we work hard to earn doesn’t go to killing animals. And that’s the most important point for us, for human health, for the planet, and of course for the animals themselves. So support VeganLinked and join it!

Paul Maplesden of Kindly Geek

“I think it’s important to support other people that believe the same things that I do. Those are the people that I want to give my money to, those are the businesses and organizations I want to buy from. And I figure that if I feel that way then other people do too.

We’re contributing towards a community, we’re supporting other people with similar beliefs to us, and we’re really putting our money where our mouth is. That stuff is important to me and that’s why I wanted to be a part of it (VeganLinked) from the ground level upwards.

If you’re a vegan providing some kind of product or service, you run a vegan organization, or a vegan business then you should join VeganLinked too. Because that will let you connect with other people that believe the same thing that you do and we’ll all be better as a result.”

What type of packages do you offer?

Linking Listings and Events

If you have a Listing (i e. Professional, Organization, Place, Food & Drink, Web Based) or Event you may link them to each other. When this happens for example your listing will display the events and link to Listings related to your listing and the event links to the associated Listings. The option to link is available when creating and editing your listings and events.

How to Add a Listing?

Adding a listing is easy. Join or login, pick a listing, add details, preview, and submit or checkout if you’re paying for a listing. For more details follow the steps below and/or watch the video. Should you need assistance or have any ideas/suggestions please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Steps:

To add a listing:

  1. First you need to join. After joining you’ll be brought to your profile. While you’re there add a profile picture and banner to your profile. If you already joined then login if necessary and proceed to the next step.
  2. Select the blue “Add Listings/Events” button on the side or bottom of most pages, or under “More” in the top navigation, or in the bottom footer.
  3. Select which type of listing you want to add.
  4. On the next page you will add the listing details. If your package is one of our paid listings then you will be brought to checkout when you hit submit.

Tips on Adding Listings

  • If you need further assistance we’re glad to help. Contact us to see how we may help you get listed.
  • Categories: when adding your listing details and selecting a “Category” if you don’t see your specific service type just pick the “Other” category. Then use the “Tag” field to enter a category you would like us to include. We may add that category and your listing to it or this could just be a good tag.
  • Image: Add at least one image. Listings with images appear on the homepage and other pages ahead of listings without images. The first image in your gallery is your featured image on your profile. Your logo appears on other pages where the listing is listed (like search pages, home page, location page, user profile, etc.).
  • Vegan Restaurants: If you are a “vegan” restaurant select the category “Vegan Restaurants”.
  • Vegan Friendly Restaurants or Products: if you’re not a strictly vegan restaurant or business but you do have vegan options and knowledgeable staff you may still create a listing. Vegan Friendly Restaurants must select the category “Vegan Friendly Restaurants” in the “Add Listing” page. Next to “Vegan Status” select “Vegan Options” and below that explain your vegan options. And skip the “Vegan Business Since” date field. It’s easy really.
  • Affiliates: (future feature) When adding a paid listing you may select an affiliate to have a portion of your payment go to. Visit the Affiliate Program section of the “FAQ” page to learn more.

Is VeganLinked Only Vegan?

We strive to list “strictly vegan” people, places, and events as much as possible. However, we understand this may be a hard goal to achieve. For example, some events may be a mixture of Vegan and Vegetarian. Some restaurants may be as well (see tips on Vegan Friendly Restaurants). If you see a listing or user that appears to violate this please report it to VeganLinked.

Claiming Listings

If someone has already added a listing for you then you may go to that listing and click “Claim Listing” (button either beside or below the listing). Contact VeganLinked if you cannot claim a listing that should be yours.

How is listing revenue used?

Overhead

Creating VeganLinked.com is a massive undertaking of time, resources, and money. There is of course ongoing expenses that revenue is needed for covering the maintenance of the site, security, hosting, and eventually advertising. Other work is needed to keep the site alive through social networking both online and offline at events and beyond.

Producing content to normalize and advance veganism via YouTube.com/VeganLinked is more than a full time job. This indirectly and directly promotes the site and everyone on it. All of this is very expensive as well; travel, gear, editing, publishing, dealing with comments, etc.

New Features

Occasionally we hire programmers for new features. We look forward to exciting new developments as the site grows!

Beyond VeganLinked

The vegan lifestyle is perhaps the fastest growing lifestyle movement in history. But, it’s not happening fast enough. We have a lot of work to do in order to eclipse the media coverage that the meat, egg, and dairy industry and various diet fads have maintained leverage on for far too long. Together we can overcome this and spread truth through media!

The dream is that the revenue from VeganLinked.com will one day go far beyond maintaining and advertising your listing and VeganLinked. Our goal for paid listing(s):

  1. Fund content developers so they may cover (e.g. videograph, photograph, develop websites, and virtual tours) vegan business and events free of charge.
  2. Future plans to fund other vegan content developers, advocates, businesses, life coaches, organizations, sanctuaries, start-ups, pop-ups, entertainers, etc… around the world as sponsored affiliates of VeganLinked enabling them to work more, potentially even full time for the vegan movement!
  3. Future plans to build a retreat center for overworked advocates to come for respite and veg curious to learn what this is all about!

Together we expedite awareness and inspire the world to embrace veganism. Below are some of the videos we’ve created. Be sure to subscribe to VeganLinked on YouTube and follow on facebook!

The Affiliate Program (future)

The affiliate program is on hold until more interest is expressed for this feature. If you’re interested please send me a message. The feature has been created. Right now I am focused on more core features and producing interviews for the channel. Below are tentative details about the prospective program:

The current, starting commission rate is 50%. This rate may change at any time. The affiliate program is a unique way for paying listings to allocate a percentage of their payment to a VeganLinked Affiliate (VLA). Other affiliate programs usually only offer a one time commission payment. The VLA program is unique because it enables affiliates to receive a recurring commission* from listing payments they are associated with. As a listing owner you may want to sponsor an affiliate because you believe in their cause; like a local sanctuary, an advocate, a life coach, etc. Or you may want to compensate someone for adding your listing. That’s what VLA is all about!

Choosing a VeganLinked Affiliate for New Listings

The listing owner may choose an affiliate when adding or editing their listing. If an affiliate is not selected all payments go to VeganLinked. We appreciate your support! You may later edit your listing to add an affiliate easily at any other time.

If you are creating a listing for someone and you are not the owner you may choose to select the affiliate for them or leave this field blank. If you choose an affiliate for them then this will be set when they claim the listing. If you leave the field blank then the listing owner may choose. Or the listing owner may request this to be changed or delete the listing and create a new one with a new affiliate.

VeganLinked Affiliate for Claimed Listings

If your listing has already been started then you will need to “Claim” your listing. When you “Claim” a listing this means someone created a listing for you and they may or may not have entered an affiliate code for your listing. If you already see an affiliate selected and you do not have a way to select an affiliate code then this means one has already selected.

Changing Affiliate

Once an affiliate code has been entered it may only be changed in one of two ways. One, you may either contact VeganLinked to request a change. Simply send us a message explaining why you want to make the change and we’ll delete the affiliate from your listing so you may go in and select a new one. Two, if you don’t feel like contacting us you can just delete the listing and create a new one.

Become a VeganLinked Affiliate

When you become a VeganLinked Affiliate (VLA) you will add your PayPal email address and create an easy to remember, unique affiliate code. Then your affiliate code can be used in a couple different ways. Someone can select your affiliate code when adding a listing and a portion of their subscription payment will go to you. Or you may add a listing for someone and enter your affiliate code (or someone else’s affiliate code that you want to support). Then when they claim the listing and upgrade it you will receive recurring payments.*

  • You must first register to become a user and be an affiliate. Any User may become an affiliate.
  • You will need a PayPal account to receive payments.
  • Log into VeganLinked.com.
  • At or near the bottom of the site select “Affiliate Details“.
  • At the “Affiliate Referrals” page select “Settings
  • Complete the short form, agree to the terms and that’s it!

Payment Frequencies

You may receive an email as soon as a listing has been associated with your affiliate code. We try to send payments for the previous month. For example, if you have commissions for listings in the month of May you will not receive those until sometime June or July. As this program matures we will create a more consistent schedule. On the “Affiliate Details” page you can see all your expected referral commissions and payouts.

*The affiliate program may change at anytime. We reserve the right to remove affiliates, change commission rates, and make any changes we deem necessary at anytime.  For more details visit the VeganLinked Affiliate Program under Terms and Conditions.
