We are a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers. The first VegFest event took place at the University of Notre Dame on March 25, 2018, and drew 3,000 visitors! In 2019, we offered another beautiful but much larger venue, Century Center, right in the center of South Bend, overlooking the river. Approximately 5,000 visitors swung by! We will continue to hold our event at Century Center, hopefully on October 17, 2021, once the coronavirus has calmed down.
Come to our free event and enjoy delicious food from local restaurants and businesses. Hear dynamic speakers on health, ethical, and environmental topics. Get inspired to cook plant-based foods by attending our chef cooking demonstrations. Enjoy the stimulating and fun Kids Corner.
Michiana VegFest is organized by passionate and energetic volunteers who care about health, wellness, animals, and the environment.
Our mission is to bring together our northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan community to explore an array of exciting flavors and options in the vastly expanding plant-based eating world. By sharing new vegan products and services and providing speakers, we promote plant-based diets for health, compassion, and environmental conservation. We encourage everyone to make healthy food choices for their own lives and to support our local vegan-friendly businesses and organizations.
Because Covid-19 continues to spread and there is no clear indication when its progression can be checked, Michiana VegFest’s Board of Directors unanimously decided to reschedule our event to October 17, 2021. We look forward to welcoming everyone next year! In the meantime, we will organize online streaming events to promote our local sponsors, speakers, chefs, and exhibitors. Please stay Read more...
