I first learned of animal exploitation, harm, and suffering from all the industries (agriculture, testing, clothing, entertainment, research) as a freshmen at university in 1995. I instantly went vegetarian and was very excited to be able to have a personal and expedient way to do something positive for the animals. Soon thereafter, I learned about the horror of the dairy and egg industries and went vegan.

I did a lot of outreach and vegan activism (awareness in all the industries) at university and in my late 20s.

As I travelled and lived in many other countries, I sometimes consumed eggs and dairy as it was easier to do so with very limited choices and being hosted by other people. And, living in a remote rural environment, there wasn't so many opportunities to do outreach but we did host volunteers and only allowed for vegetarian meals at our home with visitors.

I was vegan while pregnant with my daughter and raised both my kids mostly vegan with occasional milk from the cow next door and eggs from our free-range chickens.

But, after watching Cowspiracy with my kids in 2015, we all decided to go fully vegan. It was great to see my daughter (then 13) be so committed and passionate about it. Later, we did outreach together as a family, with the Cube of Truth/Anonymous for the Voiceless.

My daughter and I are still fully committed vegans and I enjoy sharing that passion with her.
