  Dr. Rao was also the organizer of the Vegan World 2026 conference, which was very inspiring to my family.

  I’ve met Dr. Rao several times and he is an absolutely lovely person who very much embodies compassion, warmth, kindness and generosity of spirit — and his granddaughter is pretty sweet too

  I first met Dr Rao around 2018 I think it was. I was at the VegFest in Asheville interviewing vegans for the VeganLinked channel. I noticed an interesting fellow with a very long beard by the name of Thomas Wade Jackson. After interviewing Thomas he said I just had to meet Sailesh. So, we found him and he had his face painted like a cat. I did an on spot, off the cuff, run and gun interview with Sailesh and his cat face and that was the begging of a lifelong friendship the would ensue between me and Thomas and Sailesh.

  Then it was about 2019 and on a whim I drove down to Hilton Head about 4 hours away one Saturday morning to video Jane Velez-Mitchell doing a talked at the VegFest there. Jane, a few others and I went out to eat afterword and Jane talked me into helping her with her documentary. One week later I was in Arizona videographing at the Vegan World 2026 Conference that Dr Rao had put together. The documentary, Countdown to Year Zero, predominantly features Dr. Rao and his awesome work as well as the vast activism captured through Jane’s Unchained Network.

  It’s been an honor to work with Sailesh and see all the great things he’s doing to help turn this world in the right direction. Thank you Sailesh for all you do!
