We are beyond excited to announce that we are hosting a Vegan Farmers Market every Sunday at The Barn behind Pure Pizza from 11AM-2PM (double check Central Food Hub). We began in May 2018. The fourth annual Asheville VeganFest will take place on June 8, 9, and 10, 2018! Mark your calendars and join us for a celebration of compassionate living in one of the top vegan-friendly cities in the country: Asheville, NC! This year, we’re extending the festival to THREE FULL DAYS and we’re excited to welcome you to our new venue for the first two days: The Orange Peel! As always, the last day of the festival will take place in the center of downtown Asheville! Asheville VeganFest draws 10,000 people from across the country and features world-class vegan and animal rights experts, delicious food and lifestyle products, and a chance to connect with other vegans and activists. This has morphed into a fundraiser for WNC. We will have a music festival in addition to the food and shopping. Please get your tickets and come out to support our state. We will also collect supplies for WNC upon entry. An updated list of what is needed will be posted closer to the event. Want something new to do? Want access to vegan food included with your ticket? This is the event for you! Admission ticket (no food) – $15 Foodie Ticket (includes food) – $25 Foodie Ticket (includes food) for two – $40 Children (12 & under) can attend for free, but it does not include food. Our food vendors will offer a small sized dish that’s included with your ticket and you can purchase food too. You can purchase a ticket for entry that doesn’t include food. Vendors will be setting up so you can shop while you eat. Attendees will be asked to judge their favorite foods based on categories giving the food vendors bragging rights and prizes. It’s a different type of festival where you will not leave hungry and you’ll feel you received enough value for the food you will get to eat. Parking at the venue is free. Read more...

TVF 2019 will start off with our presenter day. We have an amazing line up this year including Dr. Milton Mills (What the Health), Korin Sutton, Lenore Braford and Paul Drake from The Refuge (our presenting sponsor), and a panel discussion by two local amazing photographers, Daniel Turbert and Jennifer Hadley plus more! New for this year, we are collecting a $10 donation with half going to Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge. Everyone is welcome at our events so please do not let the donation keep you away. The PSI Theater at the Durham Arts Council can fit upwards of 200 people. This will be an excellent venue for our presenters and our attendees. There will be a limited number of vendors in the gallery selling food (int he dining room) and products. Keep checking back for updates on what times everyone will be speaking and save the dates for #TVF2019. Join us for a special screening of the investigative documentary “Ma Ka Doodh: Uncovering A Nation’s Dairy Disaster” at the local library. This feature-length film dives deep into the untold stories behind India’s White Revolution, the world’s largest dairy production and development campaign. Follow Dr. Harsha Atmakuri as he travels over 20,000 kilometers across India, conducting nearly 100 interviews with notable figures such as Smt. Maneka Gandhi, Sri Acharya Prashant, and Padma Shri awardee Smt. Sudevi Mataji. The documentary explores the ethical, cultural, environmental, religious, economic, social, and political complexities of dairy consumption in India and reveals the direct link between the dairy industry and India’s status as one of the largest exporters of beef. Please join us for our Fourth Annual Vegan Mac and Cheese Cook Off on July 21 from 12pm to 4pm!! This event benefits Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge and Triangle Vegfest. A few new things for this year: Location has changed! We will be at the Durham Armory – 220 Foster Street, Durham We are a family friendly afternoon event, 12pm to 4pm. We’re changing the format. Admission will be $20 instead of $35 giving everyone access to the contest. We will have vendors at the event selling desserts and other savory food options and donating back from their sales to The Refuge and TVF. The chefs will be professionals! Let’s see who makes the best and if last years winners take home the prizes again! The DJ will be the same DJ from other TVF events. Comedic performance by Brett Williams!! The event will flow like previous years. You’ll get your magnet then you’ll try all the dishes and then pick your favorite. $20/person $10 for kids 6-12 Free for the young ones We look forward to seeing you at the event! Are you a chef? Own a restaurant? Have your own business? $15 to enter the competition to compete to be the best in the Triangle! Rules are simple: create the best vegan mac n cheese you can and the top two will win a great prize. More detailed rules to be sent to each chef.
