Dr. Faraz Harsini is a dedicated vegan educator and biomedical scientist. As the founder and CEO of Allied Scholars for Animal Protection (ASAP), he is leading the effort to build a comprehensive and sustainable infrastructure for animal advocacy in universities.
With a BSc in chemical engineering, a focus on environmental research, biofuel production, and nanobiotechnology, and a PhD in Cell Physiology and Molecular Biophysics, Dr. Harsini brings a wealth of scientific knowledge to his advocacy efforts. Despite a postdoctoral offer from MIT, he chose to work in biopharmaceutical companies, where he led drug development and discovery for various diseases.
His dedication to animal advocacy has earned him numerous awards and recognition, including an NIH award and a Student Leadership award for his vegan advocacy at his university.

Effective January 1, 2020, Wanda Huberman retired as a regional claims manager after 30 years in the casualty insurance industry to become the National Health Association’s full time Executive Director. Wanda has been attending NHA Conferences since 1991 and has personally managed the NHA’s sold-out Conferences since 2017 where her strong organizational and management skills have been on full display.
