I am the author of one of the very first vegan parenting books, Compassionate Souls — Raising the Next Generation to Change the World (C 2000.) My becoming vegan in 1991 was in direct response to touring pharmaceutical plants, animal health facilities, and industrial farms as part of my duties working as a microbiologist for a global pharmaceutical company. I write, and speak nationally on veganism, provide cooking demonstrations and nutrition education and also speak on variety of health-related topics — including why vegans should be informed on and care about gluten.
